Seating Reservation for the Rumba Caribe New Years Eve Party on Thursday 31st December 2009 - the deadline for payment is 3pm on New Years Eve (Thursday 31st December) 2009. Price includes 1) Two admissions to the club. 2) One of the seating areas reserved (seats 12 people). You must arrive before 11pm to secure the reservation.
Rumba Caribe NYE Party - following on from the huge success of the sold out 2006/7, 2007/8 & 2008/9 Rumba Caribe New Years Eve Parties (click the links on the left of my website www.tropikalmusic.co.uk to see photos) this year we are again having a Rumba Caribe New Years Eve Party. The venue this year will be the Paradigm Bar in Aldgate. Advance tickets cost 18 euros (£16 UK approx) - those holding advance tickets will be guaranteed entry. There will also be a very limited number of entries at £20 each on the door. This is the fourth year running that we have held a Rumba Caribe New Years Eve Party and each event has been a sell-out so everybody is strongly advised to buy an advance ticket. Early arrival is strongly advised if you do not hold an advance ticket. The club will be open from 9pm to 5am (last admission 2am). DJs on the night will be DJ Jimmix (Paris/French Caribbean), DJ Lio (Paris/Cameroon), DJ Loco (London/Colombia) & DJ Marito (Portugal). Strictly over 18's (ID required). Dress code smart/casual - no hoods, caps or tracksuits.

Very good swinging, self produced LP with 2 great mambo jazz descargas, a son montuno, a guajira, a guaganco etc. A few light inaudible marks. Cover has light ringwear & edgewear.
One side is Francisco et son Orchestre, the other is Selecta Martinique. Many nice tracks but the standout is the Francisco tune " Caté Rété" with a strong Brazilian influence. A few light inaudible marks & light cover wear.
Very hard to find 60's French Afro-Latin jazz LP. Incl. "Sliva boogaloo" - organ and timbales led club stormer. Nice sax solo too ! Slight background noise on some tracks but "Sliva Boogaloo" plays perfectly.
Rare second volume. A few light inaudible marks on vinyl. Cover has clear tape on one seam, whiteout on back, staining & wear on front & back and the label has writing & whiteout on both sides but all info is legible & the cover is intact.
Original Cuban press with the white Panart " Nacionalizada" label. Some light inaudible marks. Very nice music - some good mambos on here - & good sound with just some light pressing noise as always with this label. Bottom seam of cover is split 12 cms. 8 members of the band have signed the back cover, which features a photo of the band.
Best track from the rare "Se La Comio" LP, great club track - somebody always asks "what is that ?!" A few light inaudible marks & small writing on label.
More jazz than Cuba, one track "Zancudo" is based on a Rumba rhythm. Nice music anyway from this Nonet. Very slight noise in places due I think to reaction with the plastic inner sleeve during storage. Light cover wear.
10" LP. 2 cuts from Tata Guines & 4 from Moya y su Combo. Recorded in Cuba by Claude Jannel. Classic Afro-Cuban sound. A few very light inaudible marks & very light cover wear. Hard to find in this condition. Scan is of a previous copy I had, this one has no signature on the cover.
Usual mixture of rough descargas & boogaloo's from this artist. "Cata con Tata" is the standout for me, a descarga which really takes off towards the end.
